I was headed into my studio when I heard a man screaming, a blood curdling scream. “Stop it. Stop it.” Over and over. I looked over our back fence and in the distance, I saw him lying on the ground, writhing and clasping his hands over his head.
To witness such suffering shook me to my core. At first, I couldn’t work and then realized the only way to clear that energy was to paint it. This led to this series of paintings.
All work is acrylic on paper, was completed in 2021.
